Meet Gina Marie
Founder and Director of Blue Lotus World Dance, Belili Moon Dancers, Ancient City Sirens and Sweetheart Bellydance Festival
Gina Marie is a renowned dancer, instructor, and choreographer in the world of Middle Eastern dance. With a passion for movement and an innate talent, she embarked on a remarkable journey that led her to become a highly respected figure in the dance community.
Gina's love for dance blossomed at a young age, and she had her first solo performance at the age of 10. This early experience ignited a lifelong dedication to the art form. As a young woman, Gina discovered Middle Eastern Raks Sharqi dance and quickly immersed herself in its rich cultural heritage. She sought out training from some of the world's most esteemed and internationally recognized instructors, honing her skills and deepening her understanding of the dance.
In her pursuit of excellence, Gina became a certified FCBD STYLE Bellydance (formerly American Tribal Style) instructor. She not only mastered the style but also became a partner studio since 2011, sharing her knowledge and inspiring countless students. Gina's passion for teaching led her to establish Indigo Lotus where she mentored and guided aspiring dancers in their artistic journeys. Gina has been directing, cultivating and mentoring Belili Moon Tribal Fusion for 15 years. The troupe performs pure FCBD Style as well exiting and creative fusion choeographies.
Gina's creative spirit and versatility are evident in her wide range of expertise. Fluent in multiple genres, she incorporates various dance styles into her performances, captivating audiences with her expressive movements. She is particularly known for her mastery of props such as Isis Wings, Cane, Fire/Flow Arts, Double swords, veils, and more. Gina's dedication to her craft led her to develop a unique dialect of candle improvisation, building upon the foundation of her beloved FCBD style. Over the course of more than a decade, she has been teaching and performing this innovative style, leaving an indelible mark on the dance world.
As a testament to her commitment to fostering community and promoting artistic growth, Gina founded Blue Lotus World Dance over 15 years ago. This platform has provided countless dancers with opportunities to showcase their talent and collaborate with like-minded individuals. Additionally, Gina's remarkable contributions extend to founding and organizing THE PRESTIGIOUS Sweeetheart Bellydance Festival and Competition, held in St. Augustine, Florida. Through this event, she not only brings together the most respected and talented artists in the dance world but also offers classes and workshops that enable dancers to elevate their skills. In recent years, Gina has partnered with her friend and colleague, Master Egyptian Instructor Ahmed Hussien, further enriching the event and introducing a competition that allows dancers to grow exponentially.
Beyond her dedication to dance, Gina is a philanthropist at heart. She actively hosts several fundraising events each year, supporting charities that are close to her heart. Her desire to make a positive impact extends beyond the dance community, and she uses her platform to uplift those in need.
Gina's thirst for cultural knowledge and immersion led her to travel to Egypt, where she deepened her understanding of the dance's origins. This experience expanded her horizons and further enriched her artistic expression.
In recognition of her expertise and contributions, Gina is also a certified Sharqui Fitness instructor. This certification allows her to inspire others to pursue a healthy lifestyle while incorporating the joy of Middle Eastern dance. Gina is a popular workshop instructor that has taught across the state and beyond.
